August 2006
- Big Brother 7: Those who watched BB7 will know that Nikki took a dislike to our Air Con. Read more, or see our Big Brother gallery page.
- Asda (Corby): Via Fastrack Refurbishment we've installed two Fujitsu Inverter Systems to both the Customer Coffee Shop Food Prep Area and the Cash Office.
- Line Logistics: Andy the site manager for this IT firm had a small budget to relocate across the road. Having got one Fujitsu Wall System currently serving his IT Comms Room he called us in to relocate it. Knowing the rough cost of a Small Duty Wall Mounted Unit this was to be the only works. However for less than £950 per office Andy managed to install six Carrier Units into six offices. This was achieved by taking the units from the BB7 television series. Bought by Airway in April, these Units served the BB7 Edit Suite Portacabins. Line UK took them with a full warranty at nearly half the price. After each BB series we always have a number of 13-week old units for re-sale, should you be interested please contact us via our contact page.
- Mr and MRS Murkett: Its not just commercial premises that feel the heat, we also install Air Conditioning Systems into domestic dwellings. This is what we did for Mr and Mrs Murkett. Having previously installed Air Conditioning into their home, they were so impressed with its performance and impact that in August we installed two further Air Conditioning Units into both the master and guest bedrooms.
July 2006
- Nene Potatoes, Lincs: Within three days of our quote being received our engineers were on site beginning the installation of two Fujitsu Wall Mounted Inverter Systems, for this cost conscious customer.
- Bishops Stortford College: As frequent visitors to this page will realise, BSC are a regular Airway client. The Main Frame Server Room has had so much new data equipment installed in the past 18 months.
- Schools Out: July is always a busy month for Airway, even more so now with the increasing importance of computers in schools. Many schools are creating additional IT rooms, which need, due to the heat emitted, Air Conditioning in them. A couple of the schools using Airway this July were, Cromwell Community College (Cambridgeshire) and Thomas Coram School (Berkshire).
- Dairy Crest Transport: During the hottest month of the year, Dairy Crest's 8 - 10 years old Air Conditioning System was failing to compete with the scorching temperatures. Within four days of receiving the initial call a site visit, quote and installation of a new Inverter Cassette System had been completed. This provided efficient cooling through the continuing hot weather. Since then the main Dairy Crest Factory has used us for several service visits, and proceeded with numerous quotes.
June 2006
- European Oat Millers: New Staff meant two new office creations within this 40's style industrial unit. Two Daikin Floor Standing Inverters were installed to keep the new members of staff comfortable.
- Mr Mohammed Al Fayed: The Harrods owner also has an aviation company based at Stansted Airport. Airway provides annual servicing for the Air Conditioning Systems in his fleet of First Class Executive Helicopters.
- Bonar Floorings, London: New Daikin VRV System. See feature.
May 2006
- Nike Retail: Nike's Braintree outlet chooses Airway for breakdown and planned preventative servicing for their Air Conditioning, as do more than 150 other companies.
- Foskett Marr Gadsby & Head: With 4 rooms to cool and the weather already heating up outside, FMGH called in our services to see what their options were for the installation of Air Conditioning. With two of these rooms being meeting rooms, appearance was also a very important factor. This was not a problem though, as there was a ceiling void sufficient enough to install a Fujitsu Ducted Inverter Heat Pump System above the ceiling, with four separate grilles, one for each of the four separate Rooms.
- House of Tiny Tearaways: It's not just the contestants in the Big Brother House that need climate control. This is why several Carrier Wall Mounted Systems were hired out for a six week stint. However, none of the badly behaved tiny tearaway threw a tantrum over being 'soooo cold'.
April 2006
- BB7: New House works start.
- Wood Green Animal Shelter: This is an existing customer that relies on Airway for all of their heating and cooling requirements for both humans and animals (and of course the beer at the festivals!). April saw the turn of the cats to get their cooling needs satisfied, the cattery now has better climate control then most people's offices.
March 2006
- Kane International: Being such a large building the quote which Airway provided separated the costs for each floor and each of the 12 areas, so that the customer would have the option to pick and choose how they would like to prioritise their air conditioning installation. This resulted in the install of ten various Daikin Single Split Type Units to the first floor offices, keeping the Office workers happy in the extreme temperatures of the weeks to come.
February 2006
- The Countryman Restaurant: An old Grade II listed building with no voids, low ceilings and lovely planned decor - all factors that needed to be taken on board by our Sales and Design Manager when deciding which Air Conditioning Units to install into this busy restaurant. High Level Wall Units were not an option, as they would cause draughts making some diners uncomfortable. So the decision was made to install three Daikin Inverter Type Air Conditioning Systems. A Floor Standing System was installed into the bar area, and a Suspended Cassette in each of the dining rooms.
- TTP Communications (now Motorola): TTP consistently requires the services of Airway for their ever-expanding site at Melbourn Science Park. Due to the already existing enormity of the site one of our engineers will be seen on site most weeks. February saw the addition of a new IT Comms Room at Beech House. The requirements were to adequately cool the area by using a unit that could fit into a specific 1460mm void. Finding a unit with the required cooling duty to fit into this size void was not easy, but with our design team on hand it was of course achievable. Thus, an Airedale Down Flow Full Function Close Control Unit was installed into the new IT Comms Room, fitting the spec perfectly.
January 2006
- Celebrity Big Brother: Time for our engineers to prepare the house for the imminent arrival of the celebrities and the most famous non-celeb ever 'Chantelle'. Faking her Pop Star status Chantelle kept her cool, and her warmth courtesy of Airway.
- Bodyworks Dance School: In such a busy dance studio Air Conditioning and Ventilation is a necessity. As this studio/school is mainly grant funded costs are a vital consideration. Taking all of this into account Airway installed three Fujitsu Inverter Heat Pump Wall Mounted Air Conditioning Systems, and ventilation in the form of four Vent Axia Wall Fans, designed to achieve 12 litres of fresh air per person, per second. Providing plenty of fresh and cool air, to keep all of the dancers comfortable.
